Gold Rush Marketplace @ BellJar

Nugget Candle

Canyon Land Pillow

My Canyon Land pillows & nugget beeswax candles at Gold Rush Marketplace!

For holiday 2011 San Francisco boutique, BellJar will transform its gallery space into a special market focused on one of a kind and small batch, artist produced merchandise.  The store, named “Gold Rush Marketplace”, will be a gold rush mining town theme with a modern, updated feel.  Gold Rush will feature the work of Bell Jar’s favorite artists and designers from the Bay Area and beyond!

Artists have been hand selected for the shop and include San Francisco’s own Lisa Congdon, Hannah Stouffer, Sarah Applebaum, Alissa Anderson and many more! Chosen artists will be exhibiting an eclectic variety of products from prints to yarn ropes and jewelry.  Artists have been encouraged to play with the Gold Rush theme and, perhaps, explore outside of their comfort zone to produce something truly unique.  BellJar has also invited Oakland’s favorite online artist shop, Little Paper Planes to curate a selection of their artists to produce objects based on a theme of their choosing.

"PRECIPICE" Group Show

"Precipice" is a group show with artists, Aaron Rodriguez, Sarah Applebaum, Juliette Oken and Kylea Borges at Bell Jar in San Francisco.  This show is inspired by the saturation and special effects of psychedelic movies from the early 1960’s and late 70’s. Drug induced dream sequences disconnect hyper-color worlds and space from their context. Before the use of computer animation technology, artists worked to create hand painted lunar landscapes and with tinted gels for effects. This grouping of artists and their work seek to reclaim that lost art in a new way with a fresh perspective.
