NYC

While in New York for the last week I came across a few boutiques and designers that really inspired me and reflected my general aesthetic. First up is Assembly New York. They make great unisex style clothing and feature other amazing designers such as Raquel Allegra. I also found some over-dyed vintage pieces and unique jewelry that struck my fancy.

Next is In God We Trust. Like Assembly, they put out a house line of mens and womens clothing in addition to a jewelry collection, but feature other designers. I think the aesthetics of the stores are the most interesting element. There are three stores and each have a very rustic cabin feel to them with old wooden display pieces and collected antiques.

Lastly is Maryam Nassir Zadeh, a boutique specializing in one-of-a-kind and small run designs. Their selection is like nothing I've seen so far with a very progressive take on fashion, jewelry and art. I love the pieces they carry by Electric Feathers. My favorite find thus far.

Clothing and bags by HOI BO designer Sarra Tang. This was the last booth that I ran across at the San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair and it was certainly my favorite. I managed to walk out with a printed T-shirt (which I don't usually go for) and a new bag. Her use of innovative techniques and fabrics is inspiring...a woman after my own heart and I will be emailing her to get the bags that I didn't manage to take with me today.

Ceramic bud vases that I have been coveting on Etsy for months! Sara Paloma's work is simple and elegant with a degree of craftsmanship that should be admired. The hardest part was deciding which one to take home since there were so many options and they were all great, I would suggest a collection.
